BBC
Radio - check out Radio 1 for
the dance music, Radio 2 for soft pop, Radio 3 for classical music, and Radio 4 for
intelligent commentary and conversation ( - something sadly lacking in South
Texas)
NPR - the US equivalent to a combo of BBC Radio 3 and 4 above - favourite programmes are "All things considered" (5pm-7pm weekdays), "Marketplace" (not broadcast in South Texas, but available on the web), and "Morning Edition" (5am-9am, but repeated at 7am) CBC - The place to catch up with what's going on in Canada - and all the cold weather that I don't have to put up with any longer! Movie Mistakes - how to be real nit-picky when watching a movie Susan Woodward's cookery webpage ( - and yes, she's an economist!) Rotten Tomatoes - Movies, movies and yet more movies Mini Cooper - a classic car if there ever was one - not too practical on the beaches in south Texas though!! But what a website! |

Upsidedownhouse - Jonathan and DJ Little Martin's monthly house party at Union in Houston Dimitri from Paris - a touch of French class mixed with 60s/70s/80s disco anthems Jori Hulkonnen - Finnish DJ and electronica artist, and so different...not really club music, but certainly a cut above most electronica Hed Kandi - can cool get any cooler? The best compilations in disco, beach, deep house and I love their Stereo Sushi label... Vanessa Daou - chilled - the best female vocalist around Bran van 3000 - Montreal's answer to everything! Stephen Duffy - someone of my generation, but at the same time he's moved with the times, is vastly underrated and has made some wonderful albums |
